Apogee Instruments – Campbell Scientific Graduate Fellowship
Award amount: $1000
Overview
The Apogee/ Campbell Scientific graduate fellowship if for Graduate Students in the Plants Soils and Climate Department (PSC). Selection of awardees will be made by the departmental scholarship committee based on applications from PSC graduate students. Up to 5 awards of $1000 per year will be made to each of five graduate students. These awards are for students who have completed their plan of study and research proposal. Qualification for an award requires submission of the following items to the scholarship committee:
- A fully signed copy of the plan of study (including signature by the Dean of the Graduate school).
- A fully signed copy of the cover page and list of hypotheses from the thesis or dissertation proposal.
- GRE scores from all three categories undergraduate GPA and Graduate GPA.
- Must have 9 months or more left in their graduate program.
Selection criteria will include GRE scores and undergraduate and graduate GPA. The average of the three GRE scores should be above the 50th percentile (the sum must be above 150) the undergraduate GPA should be above 3.3 and the Graduate GPA should be above 3.6. Selection criteria will also be based on the insight demonstrated by the hypotheses in the research proposal and the extent to which the proposed research is hypothesis driven.

- Applicant will be a full-time graduate student in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences next year (registered for at least 6 credits during fall and spring semesters).

Bertrand D. Tanner/Campbell Scientific Graduate Fellowship
Award amount: $3000 - $6400
Overview
The income of the Bertrand D. Tanner/Campbell Scientific Graduate Fellowship will be used to support a graduate student scholarship in the Department of Plants, Soils and Climate. An applicant's academic potential as indicated by GPA and GRE scores will be considered.
Qualifications
- Applicant is a graduate student in the Plants, Soils and Climate department.
- Applicant will be a graduate student next year.
- A passion for biophysical studies in the soil plant atmosphere continuum.
- An interest making quantitative measurements using automated data acquisition instrumentation.

Bastian Family Graduate Fellowship
Award amount: $1200
Overview
The Bastian Family Graduate Fellowship was established to support one or more fellowships for graduate students in either the Plants Soils and Climate Department or the Applied Economics Department in one of the following fields: Agronomy Horticulture Plant or Crop Science or Soil Science International Agribusiness or the International MBA program.
Qualifications
- Applicant must be a graduate student next year.
- Applicant is a graduate student in the Plants, Soils and Climate department or in the Applied Economics Department in the areas of International Agribusiness, Horticulture, Plant Science, or Soil Science.
- Applicant will be a full-time graduate student in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences next year (registered for at least 6 credits during fall and spring semesters).

Daniel M. Teng and Lina C. Teng Endowed Fellowship

Overview
The Daniel M. Teng and Lina C. Teng Endowed Fellowship was established to support one or more fellowships for graduate students in the Department of Plants Soils and Climate who are from Taiwan and/or of Taiwanese descent.
Qualifications
- Applicant must be Taiwanese or of Taiwanese descent.
- Applicant is a Plants, Soils and Climate student.
- Applicant will be a graduate student next year.
- Applicant will be a full-time graduate student in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences next year (registered for at least 6 credits during fall and spring semesters).

DeVere McCallister Scholarship
Award amount: $2000 - $10,000
Overview
The intent of this scholarship is to award up to $10,000 to a single masters or Phd student. Supporting work in sustainable agriculture is the main intent of the donor. This needs to be evidenced by the students thesis, research projects etc. The main points of criteria are as follows: a. Be a graduate student in the Department of Plants, Soils and Climatology. b. Must be a matriculated Master’s or Doctoral student. c. Must have a passion and interest for sustainable agriculture, evidenced by their area of study or research. Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected on the basis of having a 3.2 GPA or above and having demonstrated a real financial need.
Qualifications
- Applicant will be a full-time graduate student in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences next year (registered for at least 6 credits during fall and spring semesters).
- Applicant is a graduate student in Plants, Soils and Climate.
- Applicant's GPA must be 3.2 or above.

Dr. Royce S. and Pearl Bringhurst Scholarship
Award amount: $1200 - $1700
Overview
The Dr. Royce S. and Pearl Bringhurst Scholarship is given annually to students who demonstrate scholastic excellence and are majoring in and show a commitment to the field of pomology (fruit production).
Qualifications
- Applicant will be a graduate student next year.
- Applicant is a Plant Science student.
- Applicant must be studying in the field of pomology.
- Applicant will be a full-time graduate student in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences next year (registered for at least 6 credits during fall and spring semesters).

Elva Acklam & Arvil L. Stark Scholarship
Award amount: $474 - $8300
Overview
The Dr. Arvil L. and Elva Acklam Stark Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate student pursuing a degree within the Plants, Soils and Climate Department with proposed research in areas of fruit culture vegetable culture organic agriculture or landscape improvement. Preference will be given to students planning a career in the University Extension Service in Horticulture. Candidates should demonstrate academic achievement financial need initiative superior potential and personal integrity.

John Shaw Welch Fellowship
Award amount: $625 - $2500
Overview
The John Shaw Welch Scholarship is awarded to a graduate student in the Plants Soils and Climate Department who has a desire to improve the nutrition of the world's population has high academic abilities a sharp mental acuity a creative ability coupled with practicality admirable intellectual and personal integrity and a high regard for land and plant life.

Overview
Due to the untimely death of Robert N. Love a graduate student in the Plants Soils and Climate Department in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences a number of faculty members and friends have made gifts that will result in the creation of The Robert N. Love Scholarship in the Plants Soils and Climate Department of the College of Agriculture.

Candidates for the Frank O. and Ina Seely Morgan Scholarship will be graduate students in the Plants Soils and Climate Department conducting their post-graduate work in the field of plant genetics and breeding. Emphasis should be placed on graduate students who show keen skills and abilities in this field in addition to grade point average.
